Three-piece heat shield constructed of 11 and 18 gauge steel and coated with high temp black powder coating. Reduces required clearances to 8″ from the sides and 9″ from the back of the stove body. Made in USA. The shield stands 1″ away from the sides and back of the stove. Clearances are measured from the stove body (behind the shield) to the nearest combustible material in all directions. Compatibility Direct Air kit, Tall Legs, and Wood Storage Stand accessories: YES! When installing the Stove Heat Shield in conjunction with the Direct Air Intake kit, you may need to loosen the direct air a bit to slip the heat shield into place between the stove and direct air box. Rear Exit Tee: No… unless. The back side of the stove mounted heat shield does not work with the rear exit tee option unless you cut a hole in the shield. Be aware that if your stove pipe extends beyond the heat shield, you’ll need to shield the pipe as well. Compact Rear Exit Tee / Cookstove Combo / Oven: No… unless. You can use the side plates of the stove-mounted heat shield in conjunction with the compact rear exit tee (which is used when installing the oven on the Dwarf 5kw stove) but the back side of the stove and oven have the tee and pipe-mounted up against them which will prohibit the use of the rear panel of the stove mounted heat shield. You’ll need to find an alternative way to protect surfaces to the rear of the stove within 18″ of the stove back and pipe. Dwarf 3kW LITE/ legacy Dwarf models: No… unless. Does not work with the Dwarf 3kW LITE or legacy Dwarf models unless you drill your own mounting holes in the stove body. If you’re not sure which model you have, check the left or right side of the stove for the four allen head accessory mounting screws.
