This was Orwell’s fourth book, coming between A Clergyman’s Daughter and Coming up for Air. He wrote the novel while working part-time in a Hampstead bookshop. Published in 1962 by Penguin, with illustrated card wrappers showing a photograph of a working-class street in London. In very good condition. Minor wear only, without major folds or creases. 264 pages.
