John Ruskin – Time and Tide- 1903
A finely-bound 1903 edition of this collection of 25 letters from the English artist and educator John Ruskin. They were sent to a Thomas Dixon, a working-class man in north-east England, and cover topics including labour unrest, the economy, politics, society, the arts and other issues. The correspondence took place in 1867, during unrest over the Reform Act of the same year. Hardback, bound in full calf with gilt borders, marbled edges and endpapers.  Decorative spine with raised bands and gilt lettering on a red compartment. Published by George Allen in London in 1903. In very good condition. Previous owner’s inscriptions inside.
