Joseph Conrad – The Arrow of Gold – 1919 First Edition
A first edition of Conrad’s 1919 novel, set in 1870s Marseilles, about a love triangle set in the time of Spain’s Third Carlist War. It was serialised in Lloyd’s Magazine from 1918 to 1920, and was one of the author’s final works. The Polish-British writer remains best known for his earlier books, especially Heart of Darkness and Lord Jim, but also Nostromo and The Secret Agent.  Hardback, published by T. Fisher Unwin in London. In very good condition. No jacket. Bound in green cloth with gilt lettering and borders to the front board and spine. A few marks and bumps externally. Clean inside with no writing. 336 pages.
