A very nice example of this 1913 illustrated edition of the Arabian Nights, with watercolours by English artist Charles Folkard. Fifteen stories feature in the book, including the tales of Aladdin, Ali Baba, Scheherazade and Sindbad the Sailor, with 12 full-page colour illustrations. This is the first printing of this edition, from 1913. Bound in decorative cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and front board, and a wonderful illustration of a monkey smoking a shisha pipe. Hardback. Published in London by A&C Black. In very good condition. Some toning to early pages, externally minimal rubbing, a neat previous owner’s inscription inside. Rare to find in such bright and sharp condition.
