An attractive first Arabic-language edition of Sartre’s 1948 work on the meaning and impact of literature, particularly with regards the purpose of political and artistic literature. His essay also discusses the motivation for writing, and the distinction between poetry and prose. Translated from the original French by George Tarabishi, and published in Beirut in 1965 by Dar al-Adab. Hardback, bound in half-leather, 317 pages. In good condition, with some external wear to the fabric and occasional stains to the interior. يعد كتاب الأدب الملتزم للفيلسوف الفرنسي سارتر من النصوص المفصلية في الفكر الأدبي في القرن العشرين في هذا الكتاب يطرح سارتر سؤالا مباشرا: ما دور الكاتب في هذا العالم؟ وهل يمكن للأدب أن يبقى محايدا أمام التاريخ والسياسة؟ هذه الطبعة الجميلة هي الطبعة العربية الأولى الصادرة في بيروت عام 1965 عن دار الآداب بترجمة بديعة لجورج طرابيشي. الكتاب مؤلف من 317 صفحة، مجلد تجليد نصف جلدي، يظهر بعض التآكل من القماش في الزوايا، في الداخل بعض بقع الرطوبة، وعلامات تلزيق لغلاف خارجي حامي للتجليد منزوع سابقا.
