Khalil Gibran – Prose Poems – First Edition 1934
A superb first edition of this collection of 12 short prose poems by Khalil Gibran, published in 1934, shortly after the author’s death. This is the first appearance of the work in English, with the text translated from the Arabic by Andrew Ghareeb. They include musings on the soul, fame, earth and revelation. With five black-and-white sketches by Gibran himself. Hardback, published by Alfred A. Knopf in New York in 1934. Bound in black cloth with gilt lettering and motifs. In very good condition indeed. Lettering is bright and clear externally. Very minor bumps and edgewear. Neat previous owner’s inscription.  78 pages.
