A first edition of Agatha Christie’s thriller set in Iraq, which follows a young English woman who travels to the country for an archaeological project, only to become entangled in an international conspiracy involving political intrigue and murder. Christie spent significant periods in Iraq in the 1930s and 1940s, working on digs with her archaeologist husband Max Mallowan, and set several of her stories in the country. First edition, first impression, published by Collins in London in 1951. Original unclipped dust jacket. Very good condition. Minor wear to jacket. No writing or marking inside. Contents clean.
