Maxim Gorky – Selected Works – Arabic Translation 1981
A six-volume collection of work by the Russian writer Maxim Gorky (1868-1936), here in the rare first Arabic edition published in 1981 by Dar al-Taqaddum in Moscow. Translated directly from the Russian by Suhail Ayoub, the set includes some of Gorky’s most significant work including The Mother, and the autobiographical masterpiece My Childhood, as well as numerous short stories and plays. Consists of six books, each with a different black-and-white portrait of the author. Hardback, each with the original jacket. Some wear to extremities of spines. Occasional children’s sticker to endpapers of certain volumes, with previous owner’s inscription to some volumes.
