A rare signed edition of this classic piece of travel literature, first published in 1959, which recounts the author’s journeys across the Empty Quarter of the Arabian peninsula in the late 1940s. Signed by Wilfred Thesiger in black felt pen to the title page. With the complete B&W photographs, as well as several maps and sketches. Published in 1994 by Motivate, which reprinted Thesiger’s books around this period. Thesiger travelled to the UAE and Oman to attend the launch of the new editions and attended numerous book signings around this time. Hardback, in very good condition. Original unclipped jacket.
